Dasylabris merope. (Velvet ant ) Mutillid wasp. Steinkopf, 20km west, Cape. Cought 6th September 1998. These wasps vary in lenght from 2-30mm. A few hundred species in about 30 genera are known from southern Africa. From the Colin R. Owen collection. |
